Nau mai, haere mai welcome to Burnham Country Montessori June newsletter.
Its hard to believe that half the year has gone, but June and Winter are upon us now. This year our centre wide reviewis on sustainability and Te Reo Māori and bi cultural practice/tikanga within the preschool. The first stage of both reviews is to gather information and feed backfrom our families and wider learning community. I attached a copy of a survey that invited families to fill in and return with the last newsletter. If you need another copy please come and see either myself or Kylie. We would love to hear your views about how you see we are doing and would value your feedback.
We are still working towards a health heart award for the centre which is achieved by working collaboratively as a centre and with parents/whānau and children. During kai time we encourage children to make “healthy choices” first before eating their biscuits etc. To help support the children to learn to identify what is a health choice we need your help in ensuring that your child’sl unch box contains a variety of healthy choices. We also ask parents to refrain from placing confectionary items such as chocolate bars or lollies in the lunch boxes. If you have any queriesons about this, please address them to your child’s head teacher or come and see myself or kylie.
