2 cups of cornflour
1 cup of cold water
Colour (paint of food colouring)
1/4 cup Lux flakes 4 cups of boiling water
Mix all together and offer several colours. This recipe is so washable (hence the Flakes). A great idea is to roll out some wallpaper and let the kids do footprints!! In the summer let the children have a go at painting their legs or arms, but be weary of the children thinking it would be ok to paint on themselves anytime, make sure they understand it is special!
1 cup of flour
1 cup of salt paint (three primary colours)
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 cup hot water
Dissolve salt in hot water, then add paint, flour and baking powder.
Let the children paste the paint on to paper, mixing the colours and trying to stack it. Then put paper in microwave for 60-90 seconds and watch what happens, beware the paper comes out HOT.
1 cup salt
1/4 cup oil
2 Tbsp cream of tartar
Colour (Paint or food colouring)
2 cups boiling water
2 1/2 cups flour
Mix salt, oil and cream of tartar with the colour. Then stir in the water and finally the flour. Knead until smooth and give to children once cool. A great idea is to add glitter or for boys hide stones or toys inside. Try adding some vanilla essence or other flavoured, fragrant essences. The kids will love it. Let the kids take it out to the sandpit one day and see the different things they will create!
1/2 cup of water
2 cups cornflour
Food colouring
In a large bowl (I use the clothes basket) mix all ingredients together. Great outside or on the lino in the kitchen.
Try adding a different colour to each corner and let the kids mix! Give the children a spatular from the kitchen or even an egg beater.
1 cup of Lux Flakes
2 cups of warm water
Colour (fluoro green look great)
Mix together with an egg beater until fluffy, let the kids help! It takes a few minutes! Let the kids go mad with it, take it outside and have fun. The Lux flakes means it will wash right out!!! Try it on the water slide!!!
